Day 1
A warm welcome of the guest by the staff of OSCON Holidays at Cochin Airport upon arrival. Transfer to the hotel with the escort of OSCON staff. Day at Leisure. Watch a spectacular one-hour Kalaripayattu show, the traditional martial art form of Kerala – in a Kalari School. Overnight stay in Cochin.
Morning sightseeing in Cochin, the Queen of Arabian Sea, with the escort of an expert tour guide.
Cochin, the commercial capital of Kerala, is enormously rich in heritage. It became the first European township in India when the Portuguese settled here in the 15th century. The tour Includes visit to Dutch Palace built in 1557 and renowned for its murals, St. Francis Church built in 1503 by the Portuguese, Jewish Synagogue, the oldest Synagogue in the Commonwealth, the huge Chinese Fishing nets erected between 1350 and 1450 AD and the Hill Palace Museum - the official residence of the Kochi royal family in the past – where one get’s exciting knowledge of Cochin’s history. Hill Palace Museum is the largest archaeological museum in Kerala, consisting 49 buildings in traditional Kerala Architecture.
Spend the evening watching a spectacular show of Kalaripayattu-the traditional martial art form-in a Kalari School. Overnight in Cochin.
Wake up early morning to start for Cheruthuruthy by 6 am. Take a 3 hour drive to reach the renowned Kerala Kalamandalam, the seat of Kerala’s art and culture. Go on a structured campus tour called ‘A Day With the Masters’ from 9:30 am to 1 pm visiting their teaching classes, costume gallery, etc… After having, Kerala style lunch served at the Institute, drive back to the hotel in Cochin. Evening free. Overnight in Cochin.
Day 4
Early morning checkout from the hotel and drive to Chottanikkara (30 minutes) to visit the famed Hindu temple there and learn about the traditional ways of worshipping by the Hindu community of Kerala. Then, take a 1 ½ hour drive to reach Alappuzha and Checkin in the Houseboat by 12 noon. Go on a relaxing cruise on board a premium Houseboat enjoying the tranquil beauty of the backwaters of Kerala. Lunch, dinner and breakfast on boat. Overnight on boat.
Enjoy a brief cruise and breakfast on boat before you checkout at 10 am. Take a 3 ½ hour drive to reach Kovalam, a renowned beach hamlet. Checkin at the hotel. Watch sunset and stroll on the beach in the evening. Overnight in Kovalam.
Visit heritage places in Trivandrum City, that include the Sri Chitra Art Gallery, Museum, Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple, etc… Back to the hotel by afternoon. Evening free to enjoy a soothing Ayurvedic massage (optional). Overnight in Kovalam.
Day 7
Transfer to the Trivandrum Airport for departure.
