The Program
- Transfer from Cochin city limits to Kumbalangi village (20 to 30 minutes)
- Enjoy a tender coconut drink on welcome.
- Take a brief countryboat cruise. Row it yourself and challenge the oarsman.
- Crab farming is another way of life here. Try your hands in the traditional method of crab catching. It’s fun and knowledge.
- Spread the fishing nets on your own. Savor the taste of your ‘priceless catch’.
- Try your hand in operating the massive Chinese Fishing Nets (Cheena Vala). It is a fishing method unique to Kerala.
- Coir manufacturing is another important industry keeping the balance of the rural economy. Watch coir weaving done on specialized ruts as you may try to master this art of hand & eye coordination.
- Catching shell fish is also an important occupation for the villagers. The separation of the shell meat and steaming of the shells is a truly interesting sight.
And, at last but not the least, relish a sumptuous seafood lunch at the beautiful and natural lawn area on the lake side as you get pampered by the cozy breeze.
